front cover analysis

this was my first attempt at my school magazine  front cover. the information that i  placed on the front cover i felt that needed to be kept simple and easy to read and not to have to much information or iconography's on the front cover so that it doesn't take away the attention form the the title of the magazine and the main image.

The initial plan foe my front cover magazine as to have t he main background white ad bits of red on t he edge out side the white. I used a brush stroke to place in the  red on the  edge of the cover. for the white was a faded brush stroke  of the white. i thought that the background would stand out and come across appealing.

For the written illustrations i had planned  to make the writing format in stencil because it emphasised a school and it looked formal, which i place on the right vertical side of the front cover page this was  something different on account of  in so many magazines the title is always at the top of  the magazine. with my school magazine  i choose the right vertical side on account of it made the front cover magazine seem as though it was a personal school diary, the title being the unlock pad.

The picture below was supposed to be a picture of  a sixth form student  wo was hnking of the history of St Marks and  she thought of the dedication  of sixth form new block. however placing the image underneath the main image didnt make the magazine clear which was the main image and  what each image stood for .

my first  try at my school magaqzine was not very appealing to me and was very boring and  plain.  the magazine wasn't a magazine i thought  me as a sixth form student would  pick up and  actullly read. The front cover  of  magazine is the first thing that people are going to see and if  it is not interesting and plain and hardly attractive you would not  read on and see what it has to offer.
