the title, date of issue, selling line, logo

my final front cover

i changed my whole design form my  original front cover to this on account of   this looks more appealing to me than my last front cover.  Producing a magazine for people in my age group i need to ensure that it is appealking to  me if i was someone who was lookign to read this would it apeal to me either threw written or image illustrations  which would make me want to read on.
for my background on my magazine i used red but in various shades  so that  the cover looks different and original. i used a gradient background where i can place the shape that i want t he shading to go  so it is aliened with one another.  even though there are many shades of  red on the background the red comes from  the  darkened red of the school. The red stands out and is very appealing to look at.

For the written illustrations i have used black Franklyn Gothic writing because it colour coordinates with the  red background. hover i have used red for the writing that is over the really light white reddish background so that the writing stand out. the red and black stand out over the  different shades of red an a light mixture of red and white. i have placed ST. MARKS  on the left vertical of the cover which stands out considering that the light red blends in with the red mixed with white. i personally thought that the magazine would look better and more appealing  if there was  the same mixtures of colours. my three basic colours that i decided to use for the cover was black for most of the writing, red for bits of the writing that were over the white section of the cover an d the white used to blend in the black and the red so it stands out even more.

the date of  issue is 2nd February and the number of issue is 12.  this is the day that the magazine as published. underneath the date of issue  there is eh selling line which  is a couple of words that explain exactly what the magazine is about.  my selling is  RELIEF YOURSELF OF ALL THE SCHOOL STRESS i choose  this on account of it emphasises that the magazine  is ambiguous. it has many meanings to it. it could mean that there are many tips within the magazine that can relief that stress that school may have  upon one or that it is an easy relaxations that eases  ones mind from the usual stress.

i used various cover lines of things that will be within the magazine such as how to deal with teenage problems, find out what type of personalty you have, advice and tips for sixth form .i choose  these cover lines on account of it represents the issues that  students mainly  face in lower and upper sixth form such things  as personalty changes, stress for exams and catching up with  assignments  and the occasionally social problems that  students  may have which is  hwy i have placed them as the main coverlines on the  front cover because they highlight these main issue of students and instantly students can relate to the magazine when  they see the cover lines on the front cover.

the magazine suits its  tare audience on account of it  appeals to its audience with  relating to  issues that students face when  they have reached the stages of lower and upper sixth form .Also it is colourful bright and eye catching. the big bold Franklyn Gothic writing stands out  with the mixture of  the red background.

front cover analysis

this was my first attempt at my school magazine  front cover. the information that i  placed on the front cover i felt that needed to be kept simple and easy to read and not to have to much information or iconography's on the front cover so that it doesn't take away the attention form the the title of the magazine and the main image.

The initial plan foe my front cover magazine as to have t he main background white ad bits of red on t he edge out side the white. I used a brush stroke to place in the  red on the  edge of the cover. for the white was a faded brush stroke  of the white. i thought that the background would stand out and come across appealing.

For the written illustrations i had planned  to make the writing format in stencil because it emphasised a school and it looked formal, which i place on the right vertical side of the front cover page this was  something different on account of  in so many magazines the title is always at the top of  the magazine. with my school magazine  i choose the right vertical side on account of it made the front cover magazine seem as though it was a personal school diary, the title being the unlock pad.

The picture below was supposed to be a picture of  a sixth form student  wo was hnking of the history of St Marks and  she thought of the dedication  of sixth form new block. however placing the image underneath the main image didnt make the magazine clear which was the main image and  what each image stood for .

my first  try at my school magaqzine was not very appealing to me and was very boring and  plain.  the magazine wasn't a magazine i thought  me as a sixth form student would  pick up and  actullly read. The front cover  of  magazine is the first thing that people are going to see and if  it is not interesting and plain and hardly attractive you would not  read on and see what it has to offer.

the front main cover image

I choose this image as my main front cover image on account it  represents what St Marks is all about. St Marks is a sixth form school that  works hard in giving all the students a good education. Not only does it  support and guide children it always build students in a school family community and this picture shows unity and  an example for the school community that St Marks has.

contents page plan analysis

for the background of my contents page i have chosen a red and white background matching the front cover colours. The lighting on the background will be bright to ensure that the page itself stand out and is very appealing to the reader. for the title of the page i have place CONTENTS on the top left hand side of the page. The title will be in black and red bold Franklyn Gothic writing which will be more prominent over the white background.

Alongside the title there is a medium large arrow that points onto the contents page which illustrates exactly what a contents page looks like to the readers. The arrow is also black and red the same colour a the title. so that the colours blend together an look as though it is part of the title.

Underneath the title there is a bar which goes directly across it horizontally. The bar and the arrow are part of my design which i choose because it was something that makes the contents page look different, unique and appeal to the reader.

The illustrations on what exactly is going to be on each page are set in stair case format in other words each page illustrations goes a little more further than the last sentence. The written illustrations are going to be in small Francklyn Gothic writing. the iconography illustrations will be in order with the written illustrations and also in a stair case format. the top half of written illustrations the writing will be in black and red so it stands out over the white background. Were as the bottom written illustrations will be in black and white so they will be prominent on the red background. there are 5 boxes that have different images in them which are represented by the written illustrations.

Across the  first written and photographic illustrations there i have placed a small advertistement that involves a talent show competition  with prizes to be won this competitons i placed  it on  the contents  page so that people would be interested in reading on with the magzine on account of many people pick up a magazine and only read it just for the competitons.
across the bottom illustrations there is a speech bubble that asks a question DID YOU KNOW? then following  the answer to the question a little history of St Marks Sixth Form block.

contents page analysis

for the background of my contents page i  have chosen a red and white background matching the front cover colours. The lighting on the background will be bright to ensure that the page itself stand out and is very appealing to the reader. for  the title of the page i have place CONTENTS on the top left hand side of the page. The title will be in black and red bold  Franklyn Gothic writing which will be more prominent over the white background.

Alongside the  title there is a medium large arrow that points from the last letter of the title  onto the contents page  which illustrates exactly what a contents page looks like to the readers.

The illustrations of exactly what is on each page  is laid out in  a stair case format where each information goes a little further across than the last illustrations.  the iconography illustrations go in line with the written illustrations an are in a a format of a stair case as well. there are  five boxes of different images in them showing different things that will be in the magazine.

The written illustrations  will be in small  Francklyn Gothic writing.i choose this writing on account of it goes with the whole gossip magazine theme, the writing is cheeky and funky. for the top half  of the writing is going to be black and red on account of it will be prominent over the white background. were  as the bottom illustrations  is going to be in black and white  so hat it stands out on the red background. red balck and whte are colours that blnd well with one another and  standout excellantly against one another.

contents page

For my contents page i would be having  the title of the page on the top left hand side in  bold  black and red writing,  which i have chosen on account of it would be prominent on the white and faded red background. The white on the background would be on the top  right side of the page  with  medium dull  lighting this will make the sharp writing stand out. Below the white there would be red  that is light faced out this is so that there is a mixture  of reds that brighten the page.

Alongside the main title  there will be a medium large arrow going down from the last letter of  contents onto the top of the the  contents list. i have placed it here  on account of it is much easier to identify exactly what a contents page is which allows it to be much easier for the the reader to understand and read.

Underneath the contents title there is a bar that is directly underneath which  is part of  my contents design  this i have chosen this  on account of it  makes my contents page look unique and different and also make the page look more appealing.

my contents design page i  have designed where  there are six boxes on the  right hand side where there are different iconography's  to show the different things  that would be in the magazine and they also are illustrated by  the writing on the left hand side which describes exactly what is on each page.

Each page illustration will be writing in  small Franklyn Gothic writing. the top half of the illustrations will be in black and red so that the colours blend whith tehoff white bacground at teh top and tehnbottim iilstartiosn wil be black and white so that they match  with
